Retrospective Research Collections Center (RRCC) Retrieval Requests
RRCC materials are retrieved weekday afternoons Mon. - Fri. (university holidays excepted.)
Requests received by 3 p.m. are generally returned to the Kelvin Smith Library by 6 p.m.
- Complete journal issues, theses, or books must be picked up at KSL.
- Photocopies are $.10 per exposure and can be paid for upon pickup at KSL.
- Copies sent through Campus Mail will have the fee added to your library account balance. The Library is not responsible for non-receipt of copies through Campus Mail.
- Reference staff at 368-6596 can help in locating other copies, identifying or verifying items.
- KSL reserves the right to limit the number of items per day retrieved back to KSL, based on time, staffing constraints, and space at KSL's Main Service Desk. If you have numerous items, staff will work with you to prioritize multiple requests for efficient retrieval.
How To Request Retrieval from RRCC
RRCC materials are retrived for Case individuals as well as for visitors with research needs.
If you already have your citation information, submit an online form. You can also can use the Request This Item button on the Case Catalog, while you are searching:
- Display the record for the specific item & on the far right of the screen see Request This Item
- Click the icon & fill in your name, status (faculty, alumni, visitor, etc.) & other required information
- The Catalog will auto-fill the item fields
- Double-check item information, adjust as needed for journal article pages, etc.
- Submit—you'll receive an email copy of your request!
- Book requests appear on your Case Library Account & display as ready for pickup when they arrive at KSL. Visitors may call the Main Service Desk for delivery information, 368-3506.

RRCC is one-half mile away from KSL in the Case Cedar Service Center at 10620 Cedar Avenue and upon appointment, staff is onsite to help you find and use materials in the Reading Room.
If you need large amounts of materials for a project, it's easy to make an appointment to visit the RRCC collections. When working with older or fragile materials, it can be helpful and efficient to use them in the RRCC Reading Room, with help from RRCC staff. Call for an appointment to gain entry to the building and so staff can expect your visit, 216-368-4319.
