Kelvin Smith Library collects a wide variety of statistics each year for the purpose of reporting to the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) as well as a number of other external agencies. The statistics are also used by the administration of the library and by the university administration for the purposes of evidence-based decision making and planning.
Until the Spring of 2006, KSL statistics were widely dispersed in the library departments, except those that were needed for ARL or some other special purpose. This site is intended to gather into one place for easy access as much of this dispersed data as possible.
Here we provide a collection of PDF documents generated from Excel spreadsheets and in some cases a departmental report for a particular fiscal year (FY).
As part of the ongoing assessment/statistics effort, in the future some of these statistics will be generated by the library's online library system and will be presented as an interactive, dynamic web site. Reports and statistics that cannot be generated automatically will continue to be collected and posted here in PDF.
If you would like to request an Excel spreadsheet of any of the statistics posted on this site, please send an email request to: Ann Holstein at firstname.lastname@example.org.
