Study carrels offer a quiet retreat and the opportunity to store and use personal research items in tandem wtih library materials. A carrel is especially helpful when the library item can't be checked out to you, like a journal or reference book--you can use it for a while near all your other research and work, without worrying about how to combine all you research notes. When you're doing active research for long hours, a Study Carrel and a nearby black leather chair can offer an excellent respite!
Current graduate students from the following schools are eligible for a KSL carrel:
Students in other programs supported by the Law Library, the MSASS Harris Library, and the Health Science Library should contact their home libraries for possible study space. All applicants are verified for eligility for KSL's Graduate Study Carrel lottery.
Download the carrel application below, or pick up a copy at the KSL Main Service Desk. Read it for requirements and guidelines about use and then fill out the application and return it to the KSL Main Service Desk. Carrel winners are notified via email and get to choose a carrel. The carrel keys are checked out to your library account.
Please ask us if you have questions about the Graduate Student Study Carrel service, wireless access, or library information and services. KSL staff members at the Main Service Desk are happy to answer your questions & listen to your comments.
