The Freedman Center for Digital Scholarship

The Center for Statistics and Geospatial Data (CSGD) provides a variety of software for use to analyze statistics and perform location based research. All of the software and corresponding data files can be used at the CSGD. Additionally, Case Western Reserve University has a site license to the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software which can be obtained from the Case Software Center download site or alternatively at the Ohio Higer Education ESRI Site License site.

Don't forget to set up a remote license or the ArcGIS software will not work.  To do this, you will go to “Start”, “All Programs”, “ArcGIS”, “ArcGIS Administrator”.  In the new window that opens, select the “Desktop” folder on the left.  Make sure the button next to ArcInfo (Concurrent Use) is selected on the right.   The license number will need to be entered into the box below “License Manager (for Concurrent Use software products)”.  Click “Change”. In the pop-up window that appears, type:  Now, click ”OK”, and “OK”.  You should now be able to successfully launch the ArcGIS software.

The following GIS, Statistics, and Data Visualization software applications are available on the Research Computers at the CSGD:

ArcGIS 10.4
MapSource Trip & Waypoint Manager
MapTech Terrain Navigator

Minitab 17
