Equipment
The Freedman Center offers nearly one hundred pieces of multimedia and language learning equipment, each with its own unique contribution, features, and required set of skills. At the Freedman Center we operate using the well-known adage: "teach a man to fish, he'll fish for life." So, if you're not familiar with our equipment or any of the processes necessary to accomplish your goals, please come in and let our staff show you.
The Freedman Center operates intentionally with the theory of using "Pro-Sumer" equipment (i.e. not professional and not consumer). The equipment that we offer is of high quality, but not at a level that is unobtainable for the average user of our services: the logic being that if you want to replicate our set-up in your dorm, your apartment, or at home you can--and we can help you.
To this end, the Freedman Center lists all of its equpiment, the models, etc., so that you can see exactly what we have available. Loosely, our equipment is divided into four categories: Audio, Imaging, Video, and Supplementary (or miscellaneous). We also have a listing of manuals for the equipment that we lend.
If you have any questions or suggestions for us, please let us know.
