The Freedman Center

Freedman Fellow -- Robert Brown

thumb_brown Used information technology to move the seminar course PHYS 339 entirely online. Most of this was accomplished using courseware. A significant portion of this project, however, was dedicated to creating student-driven video or Camtasia pieces that explained concepts, used interactive media modules to act as "flash cards" to aid memory and classify problems, and aimed at preparing students for the Graduate Record Examination. Using this test (GRE) as well as pre-test and preparatory materials, clear assessment methodologies (outcome data) were drawn for determining the effectiveness of the material; as well as offering students a convenient method of preparing and accessing materials.
