KSL Alumni Members
Standard & Choice Membership Additional Local Privileges
If you've subscribed to either the Alumni Standard or Alumni Choice Membership levels, local library privileges are included. More than just the items on the Kelvin Smith Library shelves, your privileges extend to OhioLINK libraries, CaseLearns classes, and the chance to work with new digital technologies and equipment.
Once you choose a membership level that suits your needs, you also have an online library account—good for borrowing materials, renewing online, etc. If you are an Ohio resident, KSL sends you an Alumni Borrower Library Card, good for borrowing and necessary when you plan a visit to work in the Freedman Center.
CaseLearns Classes | Freedman Multimedia Center Services | Access to Collections
Take CaseLearns classes for additional learning opportunities in office applications, web authoring tools, digital imaging, or techniques for medical searching! Find the convenient online class schedules (primarily Fall & Spring semesters), registration policies, the important no-show fee policy, and contact information for further questions.
July 1, 2009: Freedman Digital Library, Language Learning, and Multimedia Services Center Check in with your alumni card and use it to apply your new CaseLearns class skills—use podcast, imaging, scanning, language learning, web authoring software, and in-house equipment and practice what you've learned. Staff will get direct you to the right equipment for your projects. The Center also offers fee-based Premium Services for film conversion, slide scanning, and more, a convenient service if you have a project but lack the time to do it!
Collections from KSL & MSASS expand to even broader access throughout OhioLINK to consortia member libraries and a 45+million-item catalog. OhioLINK policy allows limited courtesy borrowing for non-students, at 5 simultaneous borrowing transactions. (NE Ohio residents who have a Greater Access card can also maxmize borrowing by using those cards via their accounts at the Cuyahoga County Public Library, a resource-sharing partner for OhioLINK materials.)
