Local Privileges
Enjoy borrowing privileges at the Kelvin Smith Library and the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences (MSASS) Harris Library, with an Alumni Standard Level membership. You'll have access to books and media from KSL, books from MSASS, and other opportunities for life-long learning!
Expand those resources with courtesy borrowing privilieges from OhioLINK—the award-winning consortium of 88 academic libraries, the State Library of Ohio, and The Center for Research Libraries in Chicago, Illinois. As one of the six original founding members of OhioLINK, Case's libraries share book collections with other OhioLINK member libraries.
Your KSL Alumni Standard Level membership means you can find a a title on the 45-million item OhioLINK Central Catalog, and order it directly from the catalog. If you live in Ohio or near an OhioLINK member school, you can order items and have them delivered to the OhioLINK library nearest to you.

Freedman Multimedia Center & CaseLearns Classes
Take advantage of learning opportunities in KSL's main floor Freedman Digital Library, Language Learning, and Multimedia Services Center. Beginning July 1, 2009, check in with your alumni card to use podcast, imaging, scanning, language learning, web authoring software, and other in-center equipment.
Take a free CaseLearns class that gives you the knowledge to work on learning those digital skills, and then the Center staff will get you logged on and started on new discoveries. The Freedman Center also offers you convenient fee-based Premium Services for film conversion, slide scanning, and more.
How Do I Join & Become a Member?
The Standard Service $25 annual membership is issued at the Main Service Desk in the library, Monday through Friday 9 am - 5pm. Fill out the application and provide documentation of your alumni status. Staff can take your Standard Service level payment (cash or check) and issue your library account card within minutes. Begin using your account immediately here, or for OhioLINK materials!
Access to Kelvin Smith Library information materials, computers, network and building resources is a privilege. Acceptable Use Policy guidlines for the use of shared resources in the Library apply to everyone working in KSL.
