Begun in 2002, the annual Common Reading Program has chosen a book for incoming students to read, and KSL staff members have participated as book discussion leaders when the students arrive on campus.
This year's Common Reading Selection is Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do? by Michael Sandel, a nationally renowned scholar and Harvard Professor whose course on justice helps people reflect on, explore, and question their assumptions about moral and political conflict in society. Professor Sandel is the keynote speaker at the University Fall Convocation at Severance hall on Wednesday, August 31st.
Kelvin Smith Library once again coordinated with Student Affairs and hosted book discussions led by KSL staff members who met with nearly 40 new Case students. To add to the program and encourage continuing dialog all year, KSL has created a new online forum.
Now everyone can join the new online forum for Justice and take the conversations all around the campus, all year long. Join in at forum.case.edu (Case ID required).
Continue the dialog online! Post your own topic!
