KSL offers graduate student study carrels via an annual lottery, held each mid- September after the Labor Day holiday. We notify the carrel assignees by email after the lottery drawing, and winners get to choose carrels for that academic year. If you win a carrel in the lottery, we check out the keys to your library account, and they are due back at the end of the July session the next summer. You can keep a carrel for one academic year, and everyone reapplies each year for a new chance in the lottery.
Carrels are a great place to work quietly, store books that are checked out, and to gather personal items and working papers in one place. Carrels are available on the main floor and the third floor in a variety of spaces, including near the journal and book collections.
