The Libraries of Case are under pressure to migrate away from using Social Security Number as the primary patron identifier to another unique number. This number is the Case Account number. The Case Account number is a unique number maintained by the case LDAP system which identifies a Case person and has no relevance outside of Case.
The Libraries of Case have committed to ensuring a more secure computing environment for students, faculty and staff for the Fall 2005 semester. As of August 31st at 5:15 pm, we have successfully migrated all Case patrons to use the new Case Account number. If you experiencing issues accessing your patron record, please contact the library that services your account for assistance: http://www.cwru.edu/libraries/ULcontact.html
In the past, the number that uniquely identified patrons in our system was the Social Security Number. The user would have to enter in the SSN number into the http://catalog.case.edu/patroninfo/ page, the OhioLink central catalog page, and the Illiad InterLibrary Loan System. This number is now being replaced with the Case Account Number found using our look up page. If you are a special borrower, or a patron of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland Institute of Music, or Siegal College you will still continue to use your SSN. We are working with these institutions to migrate over to Case Account Number.
